Why this site exists
I’ve always been a truth seeker and questioned everything except faith/religion. That was a topic I always ignored because it felt like a dead end without real answers. One day, speaking truth about every aspect of life, I was thrown the question of whether I believed in God or not, and this brother sent me down an endless rabbit hole of learning, unlearning, relearning, questioning and critical thinking. The more I challenged Islam, the more it became evident it was a God-led religion upon the truth and correct teachings.
This site is a critical thinking site in which I document what I learn. It is designed specifically for me, and I do hope that in the process my learning experience and documentation can be used to help others along the way.
If you do find any errors and you have evidence for it, or want me to look into a specific topic, or feel something or a topic is missing, don’t hesitate to reach out through the email provided. After all, I am a fallible human. Help make this site better.

Seek the truth
Every scripture on this page tells its readers to look, to test and to ask. The lines are quoted in their own words, grouped by tradition, each with a link to check it.
The Quran
1.
“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned.”
Do not follow what you cannot back with knowledge: hearing, sight and the heart will each be asked about it.
2.
“O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.”
Verify information before acting on it, especially when it comes from a doubtful source. This is fact-checking in the Quran.
3.
“And they say, ‘None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian.’ That is [merely] their wishful thinking, Say, ‘Produce your proof, if you should be truthful.’”
A claim to truth has to come with proof, and the believer is asked to bring his as well.
4.
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.”
Thinking about creation is itself a path to Allah. The next verse describes these people as remembering Allah while they reflect.
5.
“Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people of understanding.”
Listen to all of what is said, weigh it, and follow the best of it.
6.
“And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
The effort to find the truth is met by guidance from Allah.
Hebrew Bible (Jewish scripture)
7.
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD…”
Only the opening call to reason is quoted. The verse goes on to speak of forgiveness.
8.
“He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.”
The first account of a matter sounds right until the other side is heard and the claim is examined.
Samaritan Pentateuch
9.
“But from there you shall ask after Shema your God, and you shall find him, when you seek after him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
From the English translation of Florentin and Tal (Open Book Publishers, 2024), which renders the divine name as “Shema”. Samaritans keep the Torah in their own text of it.
The New Testament (Christian scripture)
10.
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
Test everything and keep what is good.
11.
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
The Bereans are praised for checking what they were told against the scriptures.
Mandaean scripture
12.
“Watch, listen, and learn, and successfully rise to light’s place. Good people sit and argue, and how they argue and learn!”

Quran quotations are the Sahih International translation (quran.com). Bible quotations are the King James Version, except where another translation is named. Quoting a line is not an endorsement of every belief of the community it comes from. For a Muslim, the Quran and the authentic Sunnah are the standard against which everything else is measured.

How we research
Primary sources first. We go to the text itself, in the Quran, the hadith and the scriptures and records of other communities, and quote it exactly with a link.
Gradings shown. Hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim are marked Sahih (Bukhari) or Sahih (Muslim), since both collections are accepted as authentic. Any hadith from another source is given with its grading and the scholar who graded it. Where a source is a translation or a summary, we say so.
Corrections in the open. Popular claims that do not hold up are marked in an accuracy note, with the reason and the source, and uncertain points are flagged as uncertain.
Islam as the measure. The Quran and the authentic Sunnah are the standard. Other faiths are described fairly and in their own words, and nothing is said to mock or to hate.
